OFFICERS   PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE - September, 2008:

Summer is over and the new rock-hounding season is here.  Our first business meeting,
was last Tuesday.  Attendance was a bit light, but the meeting was packed full of, well,
for the lack of a better word, business.  We covered Club equipment, field trips, and
programs.  We voted in two new members and heard reports on the health of some of
our members.  The Club continues to grow as we add as we add Bob and Barbara Caudill
   to our roster.

Our thoughts are with Stan, and we wish Mike Moreno a quick recovery.  Earl is recovering
from surgery, and we know he will be raring to go soon.

There was a conflict with field trips; there are too many areas and not enough Saturdays.
Lombardi Ranch will be on the 11th and 12th of October, and the Girl Scouts trip is set
for the 18th, but the Federation Afton trip is scheduled for the same weekend.  The
Girl Scouts are able to re-schedule, so stay tuned for the date.

As is our tradition, September's program will be "Show & Tell."  I know you collected a
lot, but also bring materials you traded for or bought.  Bring that special rock or specimen
that you have wanted to share with the Club members.

I hope you had a great summer and are ready to support your Club in the new rock-
hounding season.   See you on the 16th.  Click on the Calendar tab to get directions
   to the meeting.
